How to Host a Patient Appreciation Day or Week
Patient Appreciation Day: Saturday is best for a PAD because it is hard for working people, especially new patients, to come during the week. Saturday makes it easier for new patients to enter your practice. Pick a Saturday 5 weeks in advance.
Patient Appreciation Week: New patients are seen during the week Monday through Friday and Free adjustment patients are seen only on that Saturday. Pick a Monday 5 weeks in advance.
4-5 Weeks prior to your PAD: Order Fliers/Postcards and Banners from Chiromania.
Two weeks prior to your PAD: Mail your flyers/postcards to your active patients and your inactive patients going back 2-3 years. Place banner in reception room or outdoors.
Start handing out flyers to your active patients in the office. Say to your patient:
“Joan, a lot of my patients have been telling me they have family or friends who want to come to our office but have not due to the cost of the first visit exam. If you have a family member or friend you would like us to see then please give them one of these flyers. I would like you to come in on that Saturday for an extra free adjustment for helping.” Or
“Mr. Smith. Many of our patient have been telling us they have had family members or friends that they would like to send in to see us, but have not for various reasons. If you have a friend or loved one that you would like us to see and or check, we will do that for you as our patient as not cost (review flier with patient). If there is someone you wish to send in, please give them one of these fliers. This program is only valid for the week of _____, so please do not let this opportunity slip by!
Remember, you are not saying a free adjustment for nothing or a free adjustment that takes the place of the midweek adjustment they pay for. You are offering an extra free adjustment for helping a new patient have the opportunity for better health.
If you are a solo Doc doing a Patient Appreciation Day it is recommended you get a Chiropractor friend about 8 to 10 miles away and have him/her come help you do the exams and x-rays on that Saturday. In return, you will help him/her do a PAD in their office. One of the keys is to book it right. Schedule a new patient every 30 minutes and your adjustments in and around that. You can do a PAD without the free adjustment if you have not done one before.
Creating a steady flow of new patients is like a river, you have to add tributaries on a regular basis!
